Intended Use: Total Bilirubin Test Kit (Vanadate Oxidation Method) is intended for quantitative in vitro determination of T-BIL concentration in serum on photometric systems and auxiliary diagnosis for the assessment of bilirubin disorder. Bilirubin is the metabolite of hemoglobin in erythrocyte. Three forms constitute serum bilirubin, unconjugated bilirubin and conjugated bilirubin (combined with glucuronic acid or albumin in covalent bond). According to the solubility in water and whether accelerator is needed during measure, bilirubin is divided into direct and indirect one. The concentration will increase in varying degrees when viral hepatitis, toxic hepatitis or liver cancer, intra-hepatic or extra-hepatic biliary obstruction, hemolytic diseases, Crigler-Najjar syndrome happens.
