Intended Use: TP reagent is intended for quantitative in vitro determination of TP concentration in serum or plasma on photometric systems and auxiliary diagnosis for liver functions assessment on clinic. TP, the total amount of protein in serum, contains numerous kinds of proteins and has been generally divided into albumin and globulin, which have the physiological function of maintaining colloid osmotic pressure, transporting metabolites, adjusting transported substances and own relations with immune system functions. TP concentration would increase when hemoconcentration aroused by any factors (diarrhea, throwing up, high fever and chronic adrenocortical hypofunction) happens and lead to the increasing of serum protein synthesis (multiple myeloma). And TP concentration would decrease when moisture boost aroused by any factors (malnutrition, increasing consume, severe hurt of liver functions) happens in serum, leading to the protein synthesis disorder, massive haemorrhage and nephrotic syndrome.
